KARL REBASCHUS

#102A I. Karl Rebaschus, b. 29 Sept 1803, Labowischken, East Prussia, Germany Landowner. No doubt, he was the eldest living son that took over his father's property at Labowischken. Information concerning Karl is found in the "FAMILY BOOK OF SERVANT JOHANN FERDINAND LEIPELT". Johann's wife is Albertine Rebaschus, daughter of Karl. This book will be referred to from time to time. Unfortunately, Albertine never filled in the information on her grandparents that the book called for. Some of the names in the book were hard to decipher but it looked like his birthplace was given as Labeneischken, which the author is certain that is a misspelling for Labowischken. The District is given as Balsten and it is believed that the corret spelling is Ballethen.

Karl was married to Wilhelmina Kramph. She was born 3 Dec 1813 (Seinantin?). This union was blessed with several children of whom six are known: *#102A1 I. Wilhelmina (Minnie) Rebaschus, b. 1832 *#102A2 II. Auguste Rebaschus, b. ca. 1836 *#102A3 III. Karoline Rebaschus, b. ca. 1837 *#102A4 IV. Henrietta Rebaschus, b. 1840 *#102A5 V. Frederick Rebaschus, b. 8 Jan 1846, Labowischken, East Prussia, Germany *#102A6 VI. Albertine Rebaschus, b. 18 July 1852, Kandrinen-?-(Labowischken?) Karl died 5 April 1864, aged 60 years and 7 months. His wife survived him for several years. Aunt Wilhelmina was very sorrowful to see her daughter, Albertine, and family leave for America. Two of her other children had already left and she knew that she would never see them again! Fortunately, the family took a picture of Aunt Wilhelmina with Albertine's family before they left Germany! Wilhelmina died 11 April 1887. She was 73 years and 5 months old.
